Septic Installtion Services

Typically, residential septic system installations take between 2 to 5 days, depending on various factors. We understand the inconvenience such projects can cause, especially when replacing older malfunctioning systems, and we make every effort to minimize disruption. Our installation plans are designed to prioritize reducing water usage downtime to just 1-4 hours. You can rest assured that our skilled team manages every step of the process, from site preparation to final inspection, with meticulous care.

Step 1: Field Installation

Step 2: Septic Tank Installtion

Step 3:  Initiate the Septic System

At Steve’s Septic Services, we understand that each project is unique. That’s why we tailor our septic field installation approach to meet the specific needs of every project. A standard field installation includes the following stages:

  1. Preparation of the basal area of the field (conducted in dry weather conditions).
  2. Placement of aggregates for the field as per design specifications.
  3. Installation of dispersal laterals.
  4. Flushing of laterals and performing a squirt test.
  5. Covering the dispersal area with filter fabric and turf blend.
  6. Seeding the area with grass seed.

The process of septic tank installation follows a consistent procedure across various projects. While the materials for bedding and backfill may vary depending on the tank’s composition (whether it’s concrete, fiberglass, or plastic) and anti-flotation requirements may differ based on water table levels, we adhere to a systematic step-by-step approach to ensure precise installation from start to finish:

  1. Determine the starting elevation of plumbing lines from all serviced buildings.
  2. Excavate the area designated for the tanks.
  3. Install suitable aggregates in the excavation to establish a stable base.
  4. Use a crane or excavator to securely position the tank.
  5. Incorporate anti-flotation components as required.
  6. Backfill and compact aggregates around the tank.
  7. Install any prescribed treatment components, such as blowers or UV lamps.
  8. Install an effluent filter where necessary.
  9. Install effluent pumps and panels according to the design specifications.
  10. Fill the tanks with water for testing purposes.

Ensuring thorough documentation and initiating the new septic system represents a crucial yet often overlooked step in the installation process. At our company, we take immense pride in our meticulous approach to documentation. We understand that the installed system may not always perfectly align with the initial design, and even minor adjustments are common. Therefore, we ensure comprehensive documentation through a detailed commissioning process.

Our commitment extends to providing a PDF commissioning document accompanied by photos, leaving no doubts about the system installed on your property. Here’s an overview of the typical items included in our commissioning document:

  • Customer information
  • Details of treatment equipment: manufacturer, model, level (Type 1, 2, 3)
  • Panel specifications: manufacturer, model, flow data, time dosing settings (with accompanying photos)
  • Transducer or float details (photos included)
  • Effluent pump specifics: manufacturer, model, serial number, installation date, running amperage (supported by photos)
  • Blower information: manufacturer, model, alarm test results (alongside photos)
